New Toys

Got a new version of Photoshop today and bought some textures to put on top of photos or 'paper' and various other things and thought I would post this dang picture since it took me so long to figure out how to give it texture and age it. Whew!

Luvin' It! What version did you get? I only have Photoshop Elements6 and would love love love a more advanced version! I know so many people who have the Creative Suite versions and can do so much with them. I like the texture you put on the picture... too cool!

I just got Photoshop Elements 7. I kept seeing something called CS2 but had no idea what it was! I am coming at this as a photographer rather than a scrapbooker I guess. I do like my picture with the texture on it. I didn't know until today they sold 'papers' that were like that. They are way fun.

On the bazillion websites I have found on digital scrapbooking they all have tutorials. I have been going through them learning all sorts of things.

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!! i really want to learn to do digital scrapbooking! glad to hear that there are tutorials on the web! Steve has photoshop at work. I want to try it but my kids say its too hard for me and that I dont have enough basic comp skills for it. how much basic comp skills would you say you need? i suppose this is one of your pics! i love flower pics!

For digital scrapbooking you need basic computer skills, but there are pre-made 'pages' so you wouldn't need to know Photoshop, but where is the fun in that? As for Photoshop - to be honest - it was really hard for me to learn and I have a computer science degree! But I am also an idiot so you have to weigh the two. After figuring it out, now it seems straightforward, but before - well - I could not grasp layers. Now they seem easy - so I really don't know what to say. I have been using photoshop for years with my photography so I am used to it. You sort of use different things for scrapbooking.

And yes, it is my photo.

Wow, you have been doing these things with Elements 7! That would be awesome if I could just upgrade to that! Well, it would be alot less expensive at least. I need to learn how to use it. Like you said it is complicated, but there are tons and tons of things you can do with it. I bought 6 and it seems like 7 came out the next week (always a step behind!) I want to learn layers, too. I am trying hard to work on my photography, which I haven't done a whole lot of lately, but I still love dabbling in it and playing in photoshop is fun, but learning all it can do would be even better! Maybe I can get all of my kids well and at school at the same time and I will be able to learn something, wink wink (it's been a bad week).

Y'all are welcome to come over here and I can show you what I know (which is not all of it by a long shot - but I just learned about brushes yesterday - SO COOL!). Just let me know.

Ohhhh, you just made me sooo happy! I learn so much better by "hands on" than trying to read a book... which I have come close to buying one on photoshop, but they look so blah and confusing and I end up putting them back on the shelf and walking away!... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
