Entertainment Center Information

Carol asked for information on the Entertainment Center piece that we are trying to get rid of now that we have replaced it. It is in the 'Before and After' post with the small TV in it, and here empty in our garage:

He made tambour doors just for fun (think rolling desk top, but two and sideways), which close and hide the TV (I hadn't shown this feature) and the side drawer holds VCR tapes, but I am sure DVD's can fit also. There are also two small drawers inside the glass cupboard - one is partially open in the photo above.

The measurements: entire piece: width=56",height=52",depth=22 3/4"
Interior for TV: width=31", height=24"

Gary does beautiful work. I wish we lived close enough to benefit from it! It sounds like your holidays were peaceful, and ours were a little too quiet because we hoped for a Christmas baby or one soon after. Kacie is due tomorrow, New Year's Day, but can't schedule an induction until Jan 6th, which is after I go back to school and all of her siblings are back at home and work. She so hoped to have them around to see her new baby, but Cara and Ashely are the only ones still in the area. Have a great New Year's, and wish for a healthy and timely new baby for Kacie!

I hope everything works out for Kacie! It would be great for you to be there for her - what did they used to say: "Take her for a bumpy ride?"

Sounds like your Christmas was good and crowded. Got your newsletter. I had not noticed, did the kids rotate writing it? I liked that Ashley had written it.

Hope you have fun plans for tonight!

Wow! The old and abandoned unit looks very nice as well. Knowing Gary's passion for solid oak as a building material there is obviously several hundred bucks tied up in materials and the labor costs would be in the thousdands. How could he bear to replace and part with something so near and dear to his heart and workshop? There must be buckets of Texas sweat that went into the project as well.

Well, he better start parting with some things because he has run out of space in the house. We have a need for some entertainment centers but other than that, the place is full and I ain't getting a bigger house just for his furniture! And since he does it in lieu of therapy - he is going to have to come up with some projects.

Oops, just read my comment which was confusing ... have a need for 'end tables' big difference!

Hey, you have a big back yard. Gary could add on to the home and construct a furniture display room. You know, like a furniture store. He could build to his heart's content.
