Was in the process of playing 'Mother Nature' and making up sunbeams, light rays, sparkles and what not ....
I started out making a radial gradient of sorts:
Overlay it on top of a photo:
Then blend it, lighten it, erase it ... change the opacity, a little of this and a little of that ...

Something lost their luster? A few white lines, an inner glow, an outer bevel, taper, blur, repeat, rotate, resize and a starburst is born:
Might be old, scratched and, well ... pretty much just old ... but I can make them sparkle!
But Mother Nature kicks my butt. Rolled down the window of my car, pointed the iTouch and snapped off a few this morning ...
She makes much better sunbeams, and does it with style! Mother Nature wins hands down every time ...

Well, mother nature taught you everything you know and want to achieve, so it makes sense that she wins! You did amazingly well at counterfeiting her, though!
