Lighthouses, Sea Lions & Sunsets

Started out rainy - very gloomy and depressing - but a lovely front yard that consisted of some sand and then the Pacific Ocean for as far as the eye could see.

Headed to a lighthouse - still in the gloom:

Walked down to the ocean at low tide and photographed tide pools (also got a TON of texture photos):

Headed to Old Town Newport to see the secret location of a stash of Sea Lions. They were hysterical! Barked like dogs, slept on top of one another sunning themselves with a few ... ok ... a bunch of boundary disputes:

Headed to another lighthouse and the weather had picked up. Took this photo in the rain on the way up the day before so I'm a happy girl - better photos:

Then on to the Sea Lion Caves. Set my camera to ISO speed 1600 and the aperture to 3.5 and was able to get low light shots (no flashes allowed) of a ton of lazing sea lions:

Then on the way home - still taking photos of the beautiful coast line:

And then ... SUNSETS!!!

A beautiful end to a beautiful day ...

(and no family members have been maimed, tortured or mauled ... by me ...)
