Pool Table

Today's post is brought to you by the word

"Posterize"!!!

A lovely feature in Photoshop that does funky things to your photo (but WHAT in Photoshop isn't capable of doing funky things to your photo .... hmmmm?). It's special, secret ability is to take a blurry photo and salvage it. Makes it a generally good tool to have around!

My photos down there in this here post were neither out of focus or blurry ... I just felt like posterizing the crap out of some photos ... a condition that comes and goes ...

sort of like my sanity.

So .....

we see here that Gary has built a LOVELY cabinet to house his ... um ... chop saw?

I forget ...

UNFORGIVABLE!!!

He will only beat me a little bit ... (kidding - you do realize I am kidding, right?)

COMPLETE - no less - with a built in vacuum to whisk away the sawdust before it even sees the light of day. The fact it is better built, not to mention - BETTER LOOKING than my kitchen cabinetry ... as are ALL OF HIS CABINETS IN THE GARAGE ... has lead me to hold a wee bit of deep seated animosity towards his freaking palatial, pimped-out garage/shop ... but I digress ...

He moved on to his 'Finishing table'. He has one, but it is getting grungy and we can't have that in the castle, now can we? Actually, he is pretty desperate for projects - he can build whatever he would like to build! It is used to 'finish' projects on (you know ... put on the stain and stuff ...) and (again) I forget WHY - but it has to be completely FLAT.

This involved a complicated series of layers to this behemoth - each one weighing approximately 1000 lbs - making it ENORMOUSLY heavy. Gary would lay in bed at night and come up with methods to move, turn and manipulate it without the aid of his feeble wife. When Ryan was here for the weekend, we helped him and that is when he confessed how he had been moving it around and planning out each step in his mind as he drifted off to sleep.

He is:

One.

Scary.

Man.

It has a recessed area on the top where a piece of masonite drops in and (in theory) when it gets all icky and stuff - he can replace it. Today he was frustrated with it and was postulating routering the lip down and covering the entire top with a big 'ole slab of three quarter inch oak OAK!!! Yes - I said oak ... AS IF IT NEEDED A LITTLE BIT MORE WEIGHT ...

He said that these enormous stumps of wood looked 'stubby' for legs - so he 'slenderized' them - giving the table a more stylish look, and Gary one more notch on the 'crazy bar' when it comes to his garage and his 'little pretties' that live out there ...

Those legs? Yeah ...

Doesn't it just scream:

"Pool Table"!?!

It will be interesting to see what happens when we move. The thing seriously weighs a ton - unless he is completely attached to the guy - I'm thinking it is going to stay right where it's final living space in the garage is going to be and we will sneak off into the night without it ...
