Tonight's the big night: Riverfire!

We have been watching as Brisbane prepares for the start of their 20 day festival. It is estimated that over 1/2 million people will be here to watch the fireworks.

It is only 2:00 in the afternoon and the first show is the blackhawk helicopter aerial show at 5:00. Then the fighter jets will do a dump and burn at the start of the fireworks at 7:00.

I have been noticing the only parking lot I can see from our apartment grow through the hours today:

The park across the way: Kangaroo Point Park - this first shot was taken at 8:00am this morning ... now that is getting a spot for 7:00 fireworks EARLY!!

We headed to the mall to find mini tripods for our smaller cameras and found this adorable little guy (we bought 2):

And, yes, my camera seems to be upside down in the photo ... I will make sure to get it straight tonight.

As Gary says - when it is all over, he will have 20 shots and I will have over 1000. Just the way it goes ...
